Welcome to St Peter's Lutheran School, Dimboola...
Celebrating 60 years in 2018

St Peters Lutheran School has been providing a Christian education for children from Dimboola and surrounding districts since 1958.

Our school is unique as it is a small school with small classes and a low teacher to pupil ratio. This creates a sense that the school is a family with a personal and caring approach. We are well equipped with updated resources including computers and interactive whiteboards in each class.

St Peters offers a safe Christian environment that endeavours to provide a diverse learning environment that nurtures mutual respect, love and care.

Over recent years we have upgraded a range of facilities, with the most notable being a new synthetic playground surface and basketball court, new computers and iPads for students to use in class.

At St Peters Lutheran Primary School we have a rigorous and challenging curriculum. Our experienced and carefully appointed teachers have a wide range of expertise, skills and knowledge which we have incorporated into our broad and stimulating curriculum.

From Our Principal

Hello everyone, welcome to week 5 of term 3, yes we are officially halfway through the term. We have had another fabulous week here at St Peters. On Monday afternoon we went down to the VRI Hall where we watched a Readers Theatre company perform a production called ‘Little Red Riding Hood!’ It was an entertaining blend of the two stories presented in a modern way. Our students loved the music and imaginative way in which props were used to amplify the impact of the story.

On Tuesday afternoon we were invited to attend the Ladies Guild meeting. All students participated and performed 2 songs for the ladies. We also took this opportunity to formally invite them all along to our concert on Thursday the 20th September. We thank the Ladies Guild for their continual support and interest in our wonderful school.

A reminder that if you have been invited to participate in our surveys, could you please make every effort to complete them as soon as possible. One is called the Quality schools survey and the other is named the L.E.A.D survey. I encourage you to participate in these opportunities to reflect and comment on our school policies and processes so that St Peters can continue to grow and improve in all areas.

On Friday the 24th August we have a student free day here at St Peters. DMSC and DPS are also closed for the day. All St Peters staff will be at a Professional Development training day for Words their Ways. Words their ways is the spelling program that we are currently using in both classrooms. We have been fortunate to be able to book the presenter well ahead and they will come to us here in Dimboola.

New enrolments for 2019 are being taken and it is encouraging to see that we already have several prep students enrolling for next year. Please come in and see Mrs Walters in the front office if you require further information or documents. Pre- enrolling at this time is a way to ensure that your child/children and their needs can be considered prior to the New Year. Teaching staff are able to organise class groups, order resources and plan ahead more efficiently when we know student numbers well in advance.

Don’t forget that our school concert is on the last day of school this term Thursday the 20st September in the Church hall. The performance will begin at 7:00pm. It is already looking to be another entertaining production. Please pop it into your calendar and don’t forget to bring the family and friends along. If students are required to wear certain clothing for their performance we will be letting you know via a note over the next couple weeks.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Yours in Christ

Tim Reimann
